Sculptural Forms and Woven Narratives in Contemporary Art

Shape analysis, which I use in the course of my work, allows me not only to read the human figure, but also any object. Paul Cézanne’s approach to shape is used and developed by painters and sculptors working in this direction. It is not a dogmatic scheme. The shape is enriched as experience accumulates: the play of details is created, then the details are combined into a single whole. But the basis — the trunk, culture — remains unchanged. Amazing shapes in the form of large and small volumes, convexity and concavity resembling the raging sea and the mountains, which are so similar to a female figure, are so necessary for my work.
