This tapestry is rooted in my childhood memories - of mountain summers spent at my grandmother’s and of secret journeys through forbidden paths that often led to ancient dolmens. These early impressions stirred something deep within me and eventually inspired the creation of Awakening in the Dolmen.
For a long time, the composition remained unfinished. Something essential felt missing, just out of reach. My memories hovered like mist - unformed, elusive. Then, quite suddenly, a vivid image returned: as a child, I had once climbed inside a dolmen. I remember the incredible stillness, the weightless silence. And then - light. A shaft of brightness pierced the stone, and I saw a single dandelion flower in its beam. Somehow, a seed had found its way inside and bloomed, delicate and round.
I blew gently on the puffball, and the space around me shimmered, vibrating with silver light. In that moment, I thought: This is God. Adults had tried to explain God to me before, but the answer had been there all along - in the dolmen, in the dandelion, waiting quietly.
This tapestry attempts to capture that feeling - the unexpected revelation, the childhood wonder, the sacredness of small things. It is not just a memory woven into the fabric but a moment of awakening preserved in thread and form.
